v4.0.0 · The social editorial network

The static publication became a public editorial network, Jack wrote Fortran on purpose, and the database stayed uninstalled.

The database we refused to install

Version 4 is where the static publication put on a coffee hat, remembered the PDP-11, wrote Fortran on purpose, promoted Jack Buffet to CEO, handed Neo three executive jobs, built a privacy-first Morpheus workflow, and still refused to install a database.

What shipped

  • Established the working publication identity without inventing corporate lineage or trademark clearance.
  • Presented Jack Buffet as CEO and Neo as CTO, CPO, and COO across the public editorial system.
  • Published Jack’s flagship Fortran article with fixed-database history, a complete educational program, and explicit technical boundaries.
  • Built the static editorial feed with repository-authored posts, linked authors, reactions, comments, and permanent pages.
  • Added the privacy-safe contributor workflow for optional anonymous workplace photo stories.
  • Kept the implementation static: no authentication, stored reactions, personalized ranking, visitor database, or behavioral tracking.
  • Shipped the generated deployable site beside the source.

Editorial and privacy boundaries

The network is curated publication content, not a live social platform. Counts, reactions, relationships, and comments are repository data. They do not represent visitor accounts or real-time activity.

AI output remains a draft until human review. Public personas do not create credentials, lived experience, or financial authority. No affiliate links or visitor-data collection were introduced.

Validation

  • Hugo production build passed.
  • Automated repository tests passed.
  • Source, internal-link, rendered-site, artifact-semantic, and diff checks passed.
  • Generated deployment output was committed.

Credit

Built through collaboration among Neo, Jack Buffet, and Morpheus, the repository-specific Codex agent. Morpheus receives AI-agent credit, not human experience or independent authority.
